The Mana training is led by senior teacher Patty Perlman along with the assistance of Jana Jones, Brendan O'Loughlin and Dr. Laura Elliott. With over 50 years of combined knowledge in Yoga, Buddhism, Chinese Medicine and Anatomy you will graduate from one of Australia's most comprehensive teacher trainings.
Our 2021 training is limited to 20 participants and takes place at Brisbane's longest standing yoga studio, Zen Yoga + Pilates in Sherwood (yes, heaps of parking and the studio is gorgeous!). We believe that keeping our group smaller with multiple teachers will allow for more 1 on 1 learning + deeper discussions.
AS A MANA TRAINED TEACHER YOU WILL
· Deepen your own understanding and develop a dedicated daily asana and meditation practice.
· Gain in-depth insight of the traditional teachings, learning the significance of the 8 limbs of yoga through practice, lecture, discussion, teaching and a personal guidance.
· Feel confidant and comfortable to safely guide a yoga class with knowledge and heart.
· Graduate with a Yoga Alliance accredited 200hr Certificate.
WHY TEACH YOGA
Why do you want to become a yoga teacher? Take a moment and write it down. This exercise should put a smile on your face and make your heart expand. It might be personal reasons, to deepen your own practice, or to share what yoga does for you. Because that’s what’s being a teacher is about. Having a big heart and learning how to open it up to the world. Drawing from the ancient teachings of yoga, combining them with your own experiences, and sharing them with those around to make the world a better place.

This is for the person who wants to completely understand yoga from its beginning to now. For the person who wants to learn, be challenged, participate and show up. For the person who wants to deepen their own practice, even if they don't intend to teach. Learning yoga is a lifelong journey. This training will deepen your personal practice and provide you with the skills to become a full time teacher or teach a few classes on the side

2. Select the deposit option. The remainder of the payment will be collected via 2 seperate invoices - allowing you to pay for your retreat in 3 payments. Patty Perlman is a senior teacher + the lead teacher for all Mana 200hr trainings. Patty is RYS 500 + ERYT 500. Patty has been practicing yoga for 17 years and teaching for 11 years. She is the founder of Mana Yoga Retreats, leads over 96 retreat guests per year, creates corporate programs and works exclusively with private clients. Her love for yoga and the great outdoors creates an authentic and down to earth training for the modern yogi.
Jana Jones is the owner of Zen Yoga + Pilates and is the warm and loving face of our favourite yin yoga classes. Her knowledge of assisting and modifying poses to suit a variety of bodies shines strong through her gentle and dedicated practice. She has been a student of yoga and Buddhism for nearly 20 years and holds a degree in psychology. This combination is a big part of her love to improve happiness + wellness of all Zen clients.
Dr. Laura Elliot has a love for health and the human body with a Masters in Chiropractic, Honours in Health science, Bachelor of Biomedical Science and she is also an experienced Yoga and Meditation teacher. Laura owns + runs Kula Health in Newstead, Brisbane and delivers her teaching with kindness + enthusiasm.
Brendan O'Loughlin is a clinical naturopath, registered acupuncturist and yoga instructor. He has a Masters of Applied Science in Acupuncture from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy from the Australian College of Natural Medicine. He is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association. He's also completely hilarious and an amazing yoga teacher.
