Mana® Yoga Provides Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher Trainings At Our Byron Bay Beachfront Training Studio + Brisbane Studio Zen Yoga & Pilates.


At Mana we extend our values of providing a small group, personalised experience in lush surroundings and well equipped studios. As a Mana trained teacher you will deepen your own understanding and develop a dedicated daily asana and meditation practice. You'll understand the traditional + modern teachings + the significance of the 8 limbs of yoga through practice, lecture, discussion, teaching and personal guidance from your teachers.

OUR 200HR Teacher Trainings are led by senior teacher Patty Perlman along with the assistance of Jana Jones and Martin Collyer. This is for the person seeking a comprehensive understanding of yoga and the ability to teach. This course certifies you with Yoga Alliance to become a yoga teacher. Our next 200HR training takes place in Brisbane, QLD at Zen Yoga & Pilates.

OUR 3 DAY Trainings are for everyone. These training courses provide yoga alliance training credits for yoga teachers, but are designed for curious yoga minds. All are welcome to attend our 3 day training courses at our Byron + Brisbane studios. We choose interesting topics to enhance your personal practice and teaching skills. This is for the person wanting to learn more about yoga and for the yoga teacher wanting to deepen their knowledge on a certain topic.

Our trainings are for the person who wants to completely understand yoga from its beginning to now. For the person who wants to learn, be challenged, participate and show up. For the person who wants to deepen their own practice, even if they don't intend to teach. Learning yoga is a lifelong journey. Our trainings will deepen your personal practice and provide you with the skills to become a full time teacher or teach a few classes on the side.

A deposit of $500 is required upon booking our 200HR training. The remaining payment is taken in 6 deposits of $550. 25+30HR trainings are paid for in full. We're flexible + we know it's been a tough year, so don't hesitate to contact us to arrange an alternative payment plan. 

We support you in the following ways when booking one of our yoga retreats:

  • • Never lose your deposit or full payment if you notify us of a change to your schedule 60 days from the start date of the retreat.
  • • You will not be charged for any date changes made on or before 60 days out from your retreat start date.
  • • If your schedule changes within 24 hours of your retreat start time due to a government COVID snap lock down you will not lose your deposit or full payment and there is no cost to reschedule to a another retreat within the calendar year.
  • • Our recommended travel insurance provider Covermore’s comprehensive travel insurance will cover you in the event of cancellation, injury or sickness for you and your family. Click here for more information / to book travel insurance.
  • • You have 12 months from the date you originally booked your retreat to use your deposit or full payment if you need to change dates.
  • • Pay in full or pay by instalments safely + securely with Planpay or Afterpay.

Patty Perlman is a senior teacher + the lead teacher for all Mana 200hr trainings. Patty is RYS 500 + ERYT 500. Patty has been practicing yoga for 17 years and teaching for 12 years. She is the founder of Mana Yoga Retreats, leads over 96 retreat guests per year, creates corporate programs and works exclusively with private clients. Her love for yoga and the great outdoors creates an authentic and down to earth training for the modern yogi.

Jana Jones is the owner of Zen Yoga + Pilates and is the warm and loving face of our favourite yin yoga classes. Her knowledge of assisting and modifying poses to suit a variety of bodies shines strong through her gentle and dedicated practice. She has been a student of yoga and Buddhism for nearly 20 years and holds a degree in psychology. This combination is a big part of her love to improve happiness + wellness of all Zen clients.

Martin Collyer is a long term movement and yoga enthusiast.  His yoga practice spans almost two decades, his diligent practice and exploration of movement and artistry around three decades.  This passion led Marty to study physiotherapy full time at the University of Queensland, which he began in 2019.  He is passionate about effectively using yoga in all its facets to explore what it means to be most deeply, fully and exquisitely in this project of being human.  Moreover, he is deeply engaged in guiding new and established yoga teachers to find the most elegant expression of their work.  

3 Day Training. $530.
FRI + SAT 8am-5pm. SUN 8am-3pm.

Our 3 day trainings are limited to 16 participants per group. Some take place at our beachfront training studio on Belongil Beach in Byron Bay OR Zen Yoga + Pilates in Brisbane. After 3 days you will receive 25 Yoga Alliance YACEP certified hours.

Yin Yoga w Patty + Jana
Brisbane, QLD
Over three days Immerse yourself in a 25 hours Yin Teacher Training. Jana will guide you through the theory behind yin yoga, illustrating the physiological, energetic, and psychological benefits. You’ll dive deeply into the practice, learning how to safely practice yin yoga + to teach it, including the postures, sequencing a class, use of props and creating the space for your students. This yin teacher teaching will benefit all aspect of your teaching and deepen your understanding of the benefits of finding stillness in the body and the mind.
This training is for yoga teachers and anyone who is interested in deepening their yoga practice.

The Chakras w Patty + Jana
Brisbane, QLD
Over three days you'll learn the science behind chakra energy and experience ways to harness and clear chakras through yoga and meditation. We examine each of the main 7 chakras in detail. How they function when balanced or unbalanced, tools to keep them open and yoga practices to guide us through.

- How to practice at home or sequence (if your a teacher) chakra themed classes.
This training is for the person who wants to learn more about subtle energy and how to work with it in their yoga practice and everyday life.

Intelligent Sequencing w Patty + Jana
Brisbane, QLD
Over three days you'll learn how to teach creatively crafted sequences to incase your class numbers and keep your students learning. Together we'll learn how to teach:
- Mandala style classes
- 360 mat rotations,
- Moving meditation asanas,
- Goddess vinyasa,
- Drishti hatha and many other combinations to keep the mind in the present moment.
This training is for the yoga teacher wanting to sharpen their teacher skills and take their students into a deeper realm of their physical practice.

Living The 8 Limbs Of Yoga w Patty
Byron Bay, NSW
Over three days you'll learn the finer details to understand the 8 limb of yoga in its entirety. Together we examine each of the 8 limbs and their counterparts, and what they mean on a deeper level. You'll learn the traditional meaning, some yogic history and how you can practice the 8 fold path to happiness and contentment in your modern day life. This will include an honest exploration of your own life and where you can apply these ancient teachings.
This training is for the person who is interested in finding a deeper connection to themselves + learning real life tools to live a happy and balanced life.

Brisbane 200Hr 4 Month Training. March - June 2022.

Our 2022 training is limited to 16 participants and takes place at Brisbane's longest standing yoga studio, Zen Yoga + Pilates in Sherwood every second weekend on Saturday + Sunday. We know through experience that keeping our group smaller with multiple teachers will allow for more 1 on 1 learning + deeper discussions.

As a Mana trained teacher you will deepen your own understanding and develop a dedicated daily asana and meditation practice. You'll understand the traditional + modern teachings + the significance of the 8 limbs of yoga through practice, lecture, discussion, teaching and personal guidance from your teachers. Our Anatomy teaching is tied into each weekend so you can experience continuous hands on anatomy training throughout the course. Once you complete the training you'll feel confidant and comfortable guiding a yoga class with knowledge and heart.
