At Mana we extend our values of providing a small group, personalised experience in lush surroundings and a well equipped studio. The Mana training is led by senior teacher Patty Perlman along with the assistance of Jana Jones, Brendan O'Loughlin and Dr. Laura Elliott.
Our 2021 training is limited to 20 participants and takes place at Brisbane's oldest studio Zen Yoga in Sherwood (yes, heaps of parking and they studio is gorgeous!). We believe keeping it small with multiple teachers will allow for more 1 on 1 learning + deeper discussions.
As a Mana trained teacher you will deepen your own practice, gain an in-depth experience and thorough education on the 8 limbs of yoga through practice, lecture, discussion, practice teaching and a personal guidance. You'll learn how to teach yoga and meditation safely using correct alignment, anatomy, philosophy, and energetic cuing. You will feel comfortable taking the seat of the teacher.
We teach you the history, heritage and importance of traditional yoga. To carry its legacy through teaching using Sanskrit, stories, Bhagavad Gita and other yoga philosophy's. When you start teaching, you'll have the ability to teach a variety of sequences and provide modifications, adjustments and variations to make everyone in the class feel safe and comfortable.
WHY TEACH YOGA
Why do you want to become a yoga teacher? Take a moment and write it down. This exercise should put a smile on your face and make your heart expand. Because that’s what’s being a teacher is about. Having a big heart and learning how to open it up to the world. Drawing from the ancient teachings of yoga, combining them with your own experiences, and sharing them with those around to make the world a better place.
IS THIS TRAINING RIGHT FOR ME?
This is for the person who wants to completely understand yoga from its beginning to now. For the person who wants to learn, be challenged, participate and show up. For the person who wants to deepen their own practice, even if they don't intend to teach. Learning yoga is a lifelong journey. This training will deepen your personal practice and provide you with the skills to become a full time teacher or teach a few classes on the side.
A lot of planning and training goes in to making a GOOD yoga teacher. Practicing yoga is one thing, but teaching it successfully for a room full of different bodies and minds is a skilled art. A 200hr training is the perfect length of time + training to begin your yoga journey.

1. Pay in full upfront.
2. Select the deposit option. The remainder of the payment will be collected via 2 seperate invoices - allowing you to pay for your retreat in 3 payments. You can pay using credit card or direct debit. The final payment is due 30 days before the retreat start date.

Patty Perlman is the lead + senior teacher for the Man 200hr training. Patty is an RYS 200, RYS 300, RYS 500 + ERYT 500. Patty has been practicing yoga for 17 years and teaching for 11 years. Patty is the founder of Mana Yoga. She leads over 96 retreat guests per year, teaches corporate classes, private clients + a handful of studio classes weekly.
Dr. Laura Elliot has a love for health and the human body with a Masters in Chiropractic, Honours in Health science, Bachelor of Biomedical Science and she is also an experienced Yoga and Meditation teacher. Laura own + runs Kula Health in Newstead, Brisbane and delivers her teaching with kindness + enthusiasm.
Brendan O'Loughlin is a clinical naturopath, registered acupuncturist and yoga instructor. He has a Masters of Applied Science in Acupuncture from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy from the Australian College of Natural Medicine. He is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association. He's also completely hilarious and an amazing yoga teacher.
